Halsey is opening up about her health journey.

One day after the singer (real name Ashley Frangipane) dropped her new song "The End," the first single off her upcoming album of the same name, and alluded to recent health struggles, she shared more insight into her battle and thanked fans for their support.

"I realize everyone is catching up with news I've held in for a very long time, and I wasn't sure how much I wanted to share," Halsey wrote in a June 5 Instagram post. "You've all been so kind so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission."

Lupus SLE is an autoimmune disease that often presents itself in flare ups, and can affect all parts of the body, causing the immune system to attack healthy tissue, according to the National Institutes of Health. The organization also states that T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder relates to bone marrow cell production, and is rare, but occurs in immunocompromised individuals.

And while Halsey—who shares 2-year-old son Ender with ex Alev Aydin—is currently feeling healthier for the time being, she noted her ailments will affect her for the rest of her life.

"After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors," the 29-year-old continued. "After 2 years, I'm feeling better and I'm more grateful than ever to have music to return to."

The "Gasoline" singer finished her post with a message to her fans.

"I can't wait to get back where I belong: With you all," Halsey added, "Singing and screaming my heart out."

After dropping her single June 4, Halsey alluded to her aforementioned health challenges in an Instagram post, writing, "Long story short i'm Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album."

And "The End" also appears to allude to her struggles over the last two years.

"Every couple of years, a doctor says I'm sick," she sings in the track. "Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks and then lay it on me."

Elsewhere in the track, the Grammy nominee appears to refer to her mental health struggles—which she's been candid about in the past including sharing a bipolar diagnosis she received at 17—as well as her more recent physical maladies.

"There's poison in my brain and in my blood," she sings later. "When I met you, I said I would never die but the joke was always mine because I'm racing against time. And I know it's not the end of the world, but could you pick me up at 8? ‘Cause my treatment starts today."
